Energy balance 2024

Published on : 25/02/2025 25 February Feb 02 2025

Because to improve you need to know where you are starting from, here are the figures for 2024.
  • 800 people for 4578 overnight stays.

Water consumption:

  • 555,000 L for 2024
  • i.e. an average of 21L of water / person / overnight stay
  • National average for hotels and catering = 150L of water / person / overnight stay

Why?

When we took over, we spotted a number of leaks in several mobile homes, toilets, meters, boilers, etc. Renovating the left-hand side of the sanitary facilities meant we had to take the water out several times, and the various floods meant we had to do a lot of cleaning. We also had to clean and refill the swimming pool

Areas for improvement:

Set up regular meter monitoring (to prevent any leaks) and a winterisation plan to ensure that the facilities are completely out of water for the winter (to limit damage caused by frost).

Electricity consumption:

  • 33450 kwh,
  • i.e. an average of 1.28kwh / pers / night

Why?

When we arrived, the establishment had been uninhabited for several months, so the walls had to be reheated and the work carried out during a period of cold and damp. We also had to heat an area that is not usually heated at this time of year. As the season was very wet, even in the other months, customers heated for longer and earlier than usual.

Areas for improvement:

Do not let the walls get cold, maintain a minimum temperature and ventilate every day at the right times (to prevent damp settling in). We have installed refractory panels behind the radiators in the main building and changed the radiators in the staff accommodation (double heating elements), which consume less electricity. We've also installed thermal curtains on the doors of the main building and adjusted the doors to make them more airtight. In the snack bar area, we have replaced energy-guzzling equipment (such as panini makers and percolators) with more energy-efficient appliances.
  • Waste: Not quantified in 2024
  • Monitoring will be put in place for 2025
Based on the calculation of the number of full containers collected each week Vs the number of cubic metres contained in each container, minus 30% (representing the empty spaces between each bin bag).

Using this calculation formula, we estimate that in 2024 we will have 40432m3 of waste (household + recyclables).
